Community Wellness Initiative: Empowering Health and Safety on MLK Day

“Upcoming Community Wellness Initiative: Empowering Health and Safety on MLK Day”

The upcoming event, titled “Community Wellness Initiative: Empowering Health and Safety on MLK Day,” will be a collaborative effort led by the Atwater-Merced Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In partnership with the Merced County Health Department, Merced MLK Committee, and Good Health Wins, the initiative aims to make a meaningful impact on Martin Luther King Day.

During the MLK Celebration, the organizers will distribute comprehensive Covid kits to over 200 participants, providing essential resources to safeguard their health. These kits will include Covid testing materials, hand sanitizer, masks, gloves, and an informative pamphlet. The pamphlet will feature educational materials and resources, offering valuable insights into preventive measures, health guidelines, and available community resources to protect against the flu, Covid, and RSV.

The event will not only exemplify the spirit of unity and community service but will also serve as a tangible contribution to the well-being of attendees. Through this initiative, the organizers will actively demonstrate their commitment to supporting the health and safety of community members during these challenging times.
