Events

We plan on having and distributing PPE supplies, covid/flu/immunization educational materials, hygiene products, food, snacks and other clothing items to pack into bags for the less fortunate. Our goal is to pack and distribute 150 bags this year. Last year we distributed 100 filled with alot of the same materials. We will be partnering with the 2 local Home Depots to utilize their location for packing the bags as well as gather donations from them. During the packing process, Covid, flu immunization and GHW educational materials will be displayed for the volunteers. Additionally, United Way of the Bluegrass is providing some handy information cards to place in the bags. We’ll also be giving personalized cards in each bag for the recipients. We’ll be taking pictures and attempt to capture any data that we can during the event. We plan on giving bags at the Lighthouse Ministries, which feeds 80+ people twice a day. We also are looking into other organizations we can partner with to distribute the bags. The previous years this event has been a success thanks to the grant funding from GHW. We hope this year will be no different.
