BLOOD DONATION DRIVE

Calling all volunteers! Here is an opportunity to make a difference for a child in need of a
blood donation. Children’s National Hospital is collecting blood to treat children with cancer, sickle
cell disease, and other chronic illnesses. In addition, due to COVID-19, there is a global shortage of
whole blood and platelets. That’s where your donation can help! Did you know one unit of blood can
help 4-5 children? Our goal is collect blood donations from volunteers during MCAC’s annual MLK
Day of Service Program. We are seeking 20 volunteers to register prior to the event.

Location: Silver Spring Civic Building 1 Veterans Place – Silver Spring, MD 20910
When: January 16, 2023 – As part of MCAC’s 10 th MLK Day of Service Program
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. – We need volunteers to donate blood!
